For reasons that escape us, there are few production boats like our
CHINOOK. But if youre like us, there are times when you want
to get out of the sun or rain or wind or cold, yet still be on the water.
Hence for the fisherman, diver, or cruiser wanting such luxury - along
with decent accommodations in a compact hull that really performs - then
this is the boat for you.
Besides a private cabin with sitting headroom that sleeps two and has
space for a portable head, theres also an enclosed pilothouse with
full standing headroom, spacious seating, a hanging locker, drop-leaf
table, and lots of shelves. Cockpit space will surprise you - 7' wide
x 6½ long - not to mention generous fuel capacity.
Yet CHINOOK acts like a much bigger boat. Using our full-planing
"WIDE-TRACK" chine design, the deep-v (45º bow deadrise)
gives an easy ride, but with the stability and economy of semi-v hulls
(13º transom deadrise). Integral chine flats and flaring topsides
knock down spray while providing easy sidedeck access.
Power can be single outboard or I/Os to 700 lbs. (900 lbs. with
20'6" length). Build in sheet plywood (½" total
bottom, 3/8" sides) over sawn frames, or welded aluminum (3/16"
bottom, 1/8" sides). Plans include FULL-SIZE PATTERNS for
frame members, instructions especially for do-it-yourselfers, material
listings, plus a fastening schedule on the wood version.
