CS-20

The CS-20 is a takeoff from the original Glen-L "Cabin Skiff", a design proven by many builders as an excellent durable performer. The enlarged version CS-20 is a little larger overall and we've tweaked a few things for even better performance. The vee has been made a little deeper but not enough so the boat won't still be stable for at rest fishing or just resting. The bridge headroom has been increased to full standing status. But, the popular recessed deck has been retained. You asked for it. Here it is.

The CS-20, like her predecessor is built by our Stitch-n-Glue method. Just cut out the planking from dimensional layouts and use the patterns to duplicate the other necessary parts for the hull. Lay them in the specially detailed and patterned cradle and stitch together with short lengths of copper wire. No traditional building form is required: the hull is formed around a permanent bulkhead that acts as a mold to form the hull contour. Glue and tape the seams and the hull becomes a reality. Of course there are numerous interior longitudinals and other members that reinforce the structure.

The hull is very rigid and features a double layered bottom totaling 5/8" in thickness. The entire boat is built from standard 4' x 8' plywood sheets. No complicated building procedures are used. There are no difficult bends that require steaming of the wood. This is a boat that most average handyman can build. But it won't build itself. Get off the couch, get a set of Plans and Patterns and start building. It's fun!
