service |
I have been more than satisfied with Glen-L plans and service since my first catalog from I think, 1971 which I still have. It is always a pleasure to talk and get help from the folks at Glen-L |

Great lines, Rides great. Straight-forward to build. |
The Zip is a excellent design for someone that wants the look of the classic runabout in a smaller, cheaper, simpler package. Its perfectly powered with a 40hp short or long shaft outboard on the back. The Zip will carry a couple adults and two kids perfectly or will even plane out nicely with 4 adults as long as they are of average weight.
I built the Zip over a 1.5 year period and really enjoyed the build and the use of the finished boat. I even suprised myself with how well it came out, thanks to all the help on the online Glen-L builders forum.
You do not need a lot of special tools, experience, or space to build the Zip. The Zip is easily built in a space of half of a standard two car garage.
You only need the Boatbuilding with Plywood book, these plans/patterns and some basic tools will get you well on your way. |
