Heres a no-nonsense boat for anglers who want lots of
room and total access around the boat, along with some
overnight accommodations. An enclosed cabin includes a
full-size v-berth with space for a head below. Yet
theres a full-access recessed deck around the cabin
outside. A windshield with side wings protects the helm from
wind and spray, and the self-bailing aft cockpit is nearly
14' long.
A variable-angle deep-v hull smooths out the rough stuff with
a 40+º v-entry leading aft to a stable 18½º
transom vee. Wide chine flats and two lift strakes per side
keep her pointed ahead while assuring optimum performance.
You can use I/O units to 1300 lbs., or single or twin
outboards (25" shaft lengths for singles; 20" or
25" for twins). Other power systems (v-drives, jets,
bracket-mounted outboards, etc.) may be suitable with minor
modifications. Ample fuel capacity is available in any case.
Plywood hulls use 1/2" total bottom thickness and
3/8" on the sides. Aluminum hulls feature 3/16"
bottoms and 1/8" sides. Plans include FULL-SIZE
PATTERNS for frame member contours, and include instructions,
material listings, and fastening schedule (wood hulls).
