Our MARAUDER can be built in wood or fiberglass using methods especially suited to the amateur builder. Construction is husky, yet light in weight for high speeds with economy. WOOD versions are built with the proven cold molded multi-diagonal format using plywood strips or solid wood veneers over transverse frames and full length longitudinals, all covered with fiberglass outside. FIBERGLASS versions are built using proven "one-off" methods with fiberglass planking or PVC foam sandwich core construction. With all versions, decks and superstructure are straightforward wood and plywood covered with fiberglass.
Hull form on the MARAUDER is state of the art, carefully designed to fulfill the boat's function. The bottom design includes a bulbous deep vee entrance for smooth going in headseas, flattening out in a long run aft to reduce fuel consumption at speed, and to provide a stable fishing platform at rest. A long, deep skeg assures instant helm response, while a built-in full length chine deflector knocks water down and away from the deck while adding lift. Topsides are full flaring reverse curves forward for beauty and added reserve buoyancy.
Driven by twin in-line diesel or gasoline powered engines, the full planing hull can also operate efficiently at lower speeds. The midship engine room has space for a good sized generator and ample fuel tankage port and starboard at the center of buoyancy to assure proper hull balance at all tank loadings. Total capacity is more than sufficient for even extended fishing expeditions.
Yet the heart of any sportfishing boat is the cockpit, and this is where the MARAUDER shines. While near to the water, it's still self-bailing and HUGE! There's an optional transom gate shown for landing the big ones, plus a high area for bait prep, gear storage, bait well, fish box, etc. A roomy flying bridge is just up the ladder, while there's a double sun lounge on the foredeck and a handy anchor pulpit at the bow, all readily accessible via wide sidedecks.
Your MARAUDER is equally suited to extensive cruising whether with a family or a gang of anglers. Forward, there are twin private double staterooms with hanging lockers, shelves, and plenty of storage space in each. A spacious centrally located toilet room comes complete with separate stall shower and seat. The deckhouse includes a fully equipped galley, monstrous 7' x 7' settee-dining area, and enclosed control station to starboard when weather conditions are foul. Generous window areas all around provide light, ventilation, and a view, even while seated. In summary, the MARAUDER offers you the ultimate fishing machine/cruiser equal or superior to anything you could buy.
