Our DAUNTLESS design is specifically intended to fill a variety of workboat uses, including various types of commercial fishing, cargo handling, and related activities. Her modest size and power requirements assure profitable operation for the owner-operator who is willing to build his own craft. Here's a proven semi-displacement hull that will give speeds to 10 knots with very modest power requirements adding up to exceptional range and economy. Hold capacity is quite commodious, with over 200 cubic feet of volume.

The DAUNTLESS is a flexible design, allowing outfitting and equipment to be installed to suit the owner's requirements. There's plenty of open deck space and a recessed aft cockpit adaptable to many uses. Net reels, masts and booms, out-riggers, and other deck gear can be added just to suit, making for a true custom workboat. High freeboard and protective bulwarks make for a safe, dry running vessel. A long, deep skeg protects the single 28" maximum diameter propeller and assures good directional stability. The deep bulbous forefoot minimizes plunging in a head sea and provides an easy ride.

Accommodations are available for two crew members, including a head, galley space, a hinged table, and settee. Dual control stations and a flying bridge assure safety and comfort in any weather conditions. Plans are available for either plywood and lumber, or "one-off" fiberglass materials for use in building the hull. Either method is well within the abilities of most experienced amateurs, or construction can be done by the small professional yard if desired. Either way, you'll have a genuine custom workboat at a fraction of the cost of expensive production boats.
