Glen-L 30
Although the outboard profile and deck plan are the same for the GLEN-L 30 and GLEN-L 30FG, each is a different design with a different arrangement plan and construction method. Study plans are available on both.
The GLEN-L 30 features double diagonal plywood cold-molded planking over a series of bulkheads with longitudinals for lightweight, strong hull construction. The arrangement features berths in the most comfortable portion of the boat. The settee backs form "shorty" berths ideal for the kids, with head and galley area separating the sleeping areas. It's an ideal cruising layout for families, with plenty of storage space and room below seldom found in a boat this size.
The GLEN-L 30FG features "one-off" fiberglass hull construction utilizing either fiberglass planking (C-FLEX) or foam core sandwich techniques. The arrangement offers a private stateroom forward and roomy, open cockpit aft, with plenty of storage space. The engine is located under the galley cabinet/settee for easy access. All berths are full length and spacious.
The rig on either version is identical; an easy-to-handle double headsail rig specifically intended for cruising. Long keels give protection to the underwater gear, while the shoal draft makes "gunkholing" practical. The cockpit is large and self-bailing and the raised deck makes for a dry boat underway.
