The trailerable GLEN-L 7.9 is built with "one-off" fiberglass materials, either foam sandwich core or fiberglass planking. The plans show a ballasted centerboard version for shoal draft or a full ballast keel version. Power can be provided with an outboard motor mounted in a unique concealed transom well, or an outboard mounted on a transom bracket, or by a gasoline or diesel inboard engine. The spacious cabin area features full standing headroom, even in the optional shower area of the toilet room. Full length berths are provided for a family of four or five, and there's plenty of storage space, including two hanging lockers. A complete galley features an ice box with cabin, as well as cockpit, access. The dining table can be used in the cabin as well as in the cockpit. The cockpit features full circle visibility even while seated, and is self-draining. The efficient and easy-to-handle rig has plenty of sail area for smart performance under jib or optional Genoa. The plans are especially complete, including full-size patterns and of course, no lofting is required.
