For those fishing and cruising where seas can get windy, wet, rough, and cold, our OLYMPIAN 23 is especially for you. You'll appreciate the protection of an enclosed helm station and cozy cabin with all the amenities. These include a 3' wide dinette that forms a 6'+ berth, a 6'3" v-berth with portable toilet below, galley space, and a helm seat that allows for sitting, standing, or extra galley space depending on position.

More important to anglers is a spacious and deep (28" min.) self-bailing cockpit (a second helm station can be provided here optionally). And if a longer cockpit is desired, you can increase boat length or shorten the cabin. Plans detail a simple way to vary boat length between about 21' and 25'.

Whatever your choice, this trailerable hull can take the elements. Capable of high planing speeds, the full-length hard-chine deep-vee bottom (18-1/2° at the stern) features lift strakes and chine flats to deflect spray and pop you up on plane without fuss. Plans detail inboard (I/O or jet to 1200 lbs.) or single or twin outboards (20" or 25" shaft lengths).

Build in plywood (1/2" bottom; 3/8" sides) or welded aluminum (3/16" bottom, 1/8" sides). Full size patterns are used to form hull backbone members (i.e., frames, stem, transom) - no lofting required. Hulls are built upside down over this framework. After longitudinals are sprung around, hull panels are positioned, marked to shape, cut, and fastened or welded to these to complete the hull. Plans also include instructions and material listings to assure professional results.
