The MONSOON is a spacious, but compact cruiser featuring a reliable centrally located inboard engine. The roomy, airy cabin has fore and aft sliding windows as well as a ventilating access hatch on the foredeck. There is a fully enclosed head on the starboard side of the cabin, with a hanging locker opposite that conveniently opens into the cockpit. The locker top provides an excellent shelf for a ship-to-shore radio near the dinette. The galley has room for a stove and sink with storage below that extends under the forward berths. The dinette converts to form a part of the generous vee berths.
Power can vary considerably as the motor is located over the center of bouyancy so that different weights do not affect the trim of the boat. Speeds of 20 knots are possible with 75 shp; 100 shp, 23 knots; 180 shp, 31 knots.
The hull has a double curvature bottom just like our larger boats for a strong hull that rides well and is dry running. The hull construction is designed to be as simple as possible, keeping the amateur builder in mind.
