Glen-L 21CB
The GLEN-L 21CB is a centerboard sloop which allows it to sail in just about any puddle that's at least a few feet deep. With the board up, the hull draws less than 10". With the board down, she is extremely stable due to the ballasted centerboard. A winch in the cabin is used to raise and lower the board, or vary its position to suit sailing conditions. You can trailer the GLEN-L 21CB to practically anywhere a car can take it. Launching is very easy, as is handling the simple but efficient masthead rig.
The hull is a light displacement type made possible by lightweight, easy-to-build, plywood construction. Overnight sailing is a pleasure. There's room to sleep three, and with the hatch up, the cook can sit on the trunk and whip up a meal in the compact galley. A drop leaf table on the opposite side of the trunk can be used for dining. Plenty of space is provided under the berths and cockpit seats for storage and an ice box. The cockpit seats can be used for extra berths, if desired. All sheets lead to the helmsman in the self-draining cockpit, and rigging is simplified to keep expenses down.
