Note: This is a "discontinued" design. We no longer have full size patterns, but all neccessary dimensions are included in the plans. We have added this design to the web site in response to customer inquiries. The following copy is from a 1950's catalog.

The success of our inboard racer, "Hot Rod", led to the developement of the DRAGSTER, to hold the larger and more powerful motors. This is an honest to gosh all out going machine. If you have a desire to show your spray to some local character, this is your chance. If you want a sleek racy bundle of floating "get out and go", you're in with the DRAGSTER.

The DRAGSTER is intended for rugged high speed use. She is definitely not an offshore rocking chair. You will need plenty of open protected water. When you pour the coal to this baby, you'll have to be pointed in the right direction. You're going to get there but fast.

The DRAGSTER may be powered with almost any of the popular automotive conversions. These are usually hopped up to get extra "horses". The larger and more powerful marine motors will of course be excellent. The motor must be connected to a v-drive. Any attempt to locate the motor forward in the "conventional" position will result in nothing but trouble.

DRAGSTER was developed for building by the amateur. Construction of course must be of first quality throughout. The construction again utilizes our special interlock method. All frames are set into the motor stringers that act as a building jig. A proven simple but rugged type of construction. Complicated offset tables are not used. The drawings dimension each member and make the entire project a step by step operation.

When the above copy was written this design was cutting edge; now builders are seeking it out for its classic look. This a great design for someone looking for a head-turner that will still outperform most contemporary ski boats.
