a 15' "ultra modern tailed runabout for outboard motor"

The SWISH, Popular Mechanics' cover girl for March 1958. She was designed in the '50's when fins on cars were all the rage. The SWISH, L DORADO, and L CAPITAN are no longer in our catalog, however, due to increasing inquiries from customers familiar with these boats, we are making them available through our web site. If you're looking for the ideal boat to trail behind your classic car, then take a look at our cover girl or one of her sisters.

The following copy appeared in our 1958 catalog: The SWISH was especially designed for POPULAR MECHANICS Magazine. With the up-swept wing tail fin styling you have a boat that is as modern as tomorrow.

Of course a boat that appears to be moving, when standing still, due to styling must incorporate performance. We didn't name this hull SWISH for nothing. With a healthy power plant, SWISH and she's gone. Varying passenger loads are easily carried without the usual long process of getting "over the hump" and on the plane. The exceptional beam gives stability and allows the flare to be increased to offer an exceptionally dry boat.

The SWISH wasn't simply drawn on a sheet of paper and then forgotten. For from it. This hull was first completely designed and calculated. The lines of the hull were expanded to full size. Scale drawings were made. The entire hull was then constructed to check all dimensions and drawings. Finally the boat was launched and performance checked. We drove her in smooth water, rough water, at slow speeds, wide open on the turns, towed skiers, loaded her with passengers and all concerned come to a unanimous decision. "SHE'S A HONEY".

The drawings of the SWISH are especially complete. The written instructions not only take you verbally through the building of the boat but we have also profusely illustrated the instruction booklet with photographs taken during the actual construction. The plans give each frame member individually dimensioned as well as the stem, breasthook, chine blocking, transom, carling, and tail section.
