The GLEN-L series of duck boats have been very popular. BUT, they couldn't carry hunters, dog, decoys and gear on longer trips. Now there's HONKER, larger in all ways.
The silhouette has been kept low with sloping side decks for placing comouflage that will blend into the surroundings. She has a slight vee in the bottom to part and cushion the waves, but not enough to create instability at rest; this is a solid in-water gunning platform. And, with the flaring side, stability is further increased and adds additional buoyancy when the hull is carrying a load. This is a boat for the serious hunter. But of course, it'll be at home for fishing or similar water fun things.
HONKER is solidly built from sheet plywood; with a full 3/4" bottom, it's tough. Standard lumber and 4' x 8' sheets of plywood are used and building is well within the realm of the average handy person. And the GLEN-L plans and patterns make the task even easier for the neophyte. The hull is conventional in construction with sawn frames with 1/4" sheet plywood sides and decks and a doubled 3/8" bottom. To make building even easier, a ready cut and assembled Frame Kit is available plus Fastening Kits and Fiberglass Covering Kits.
