an 11' deep vee runabout

DYNO Mite is intended for a short or long shaft transom mounted outboard motor set in a self bailing motorwell. The hull features a generous 12 degree vee bottom with built in chine flats, a.k.a. spray rails, deflectors, and lift strakes. Interior longitudinal reinforcement is added after the hull is formed and consistS of wide plywood laminations topped with vertical members. They're easy to spring in place, no shaping required and it's a proven strong system that reinforces the monocoque hull structure. And standard 4' x 8' plywood panels are used throughout; only four panels of 1/4" x 4' x 8' plywood will plank the entire boat.

Dyno Mite is easy to build, thanks to the simplified Stitch and Glue building method. Full size patterns are furnished for virtually every contoured part in the boat including the bottom and side planking. The patterned parts are duplicated to the plywood panels, cut to shape, bent around a single form, stitched together, and joints bonded with fillets and fiberglass laminations. The pre-cut plywood planking forms the hull shape automatically without fairing or shaping. You'll be surprised how quickly the hull takes shape. The construction is not complex and this is an excellent first time boatbuilding project.

The detailed plans include complete progressive instructions with Bill of Materials, what fasteners to use at each junction and the proper seam bonding laminates. In addition GLEN-L has available Stitch and Glue Kits that contain everything needed to assemble the cut out wooden parts, and Fiberglass Covering Kits to properly encase the hulls with this durable sheathing.

A Dyno Mite Builder Speaks Out:

"Here are some pictures of the outboard version of Dyno Mite that my dad and I built. We had built "Cruisette" back in 1968 and it was a great experience for my dad and me. Well, much later in life, I talked my dad into building another boat. It proved once again to be a great father/son bonding experience as I watched my dad get excited about something again in his twilight years and gave us a great reason to spend time together. Even my dog tried to help [too much], so we had to promise to let her drive so she would leave us alone long enough to let us finish! The boat is a real eye catcher/conversation piece on the water. Keep those boats floating!" - Pete Bratten
