What our Customers have to say...

I would just like to tell all something. I run my own business as a carpenter / joiner. In my local town I do jobs for all kinds of people doing all sorts of things from cupboards and doors to fitted kitchens but I must say building my Vera cruise is giving me such a buzzzzzz!!! I also have lots of other hobbies but working on the boat really gives me a thrill. Thanks .

Andrew Sharpe - Malmesbury,UK

Your easy to follow plans and directions helped me feel like an old pro. The finished boat, and the response I get when showing her, are more rewarding than I could have ever imagined. When asked how long I worked on it, I reply zero hours--no work, all fun.
Rich, Portland, OR

Thanks for the quick service, the plans arrived yesterday. I have just about finished a boat similar to your Squirt, and they didn’t come with half as much info as your plans but gave me a few lessons in boat building--mainly what not to do! - Peter, Australia

You have a fantastic website here. I think it's probably the best resource that I have seen for wooden boat builders. I look forward to the newsletter each month. Thanks, Rick Heaney

This is just a note to let you know... that if the "adventures" I have, on my home-built Glen-L boat, are 1/100 as wonderful as the ones I have already had in my mind while building your boat... your DIY plans will end up being the single best dollar investment (I believe) that a man could ever make.
Thank you!
John Wright

Comments: I enjoy spending time on your website. Aside from the wide range of boats to choose from, there is so much back up information on the actual construction as well as the ancillaries required to complete the project.
Great site. Graham Hinton

Comments: hello - back in the early 70´s I built with a friend your Glen 17. It was fantastic. I'd like to build another so I'll be sending for your catalog. Greetings from Mexico! Fernando Monterrubio Gross

Comments: Been gone awhile and now I'm back. Looking forward to getting back to my dream of building "my live-aboard". Ya'll have a great web site and enjoy it much. Thanks for the never ending possibilities, only limited by one's imagination. Jerry Boudreaux

So far Glen-L is the only company that offers such a wide array of products to make a boat building project easier than it appears. Robert E. Hulbert, Jr.

Good Morning Gayle,

I just got off work. Thank you for saving me the trouble. By the way for a small business you sure operate professionally. Maintain that common touch with people. It looks good on you. There is not enough of you in this world. Keep up the good work.

I was always glad to do business with you , now I am proud to be part of the ever growing, Glen-L Family.

Graciously yours, Gerald

Gayle,
Thanks.
I remember way back when, when no one had built a Glen L design and talked down on them. I have built several designs and found them to be well thought out, functional, and efficient. My thanks to all of you, for not only keeping a tradition alive, but standing behind your designs. Years ago, Glen signed a copy of his Boatbuilding With Plywood for me and I was able to give it to a dying man who had taught me a great deal. He passed away with it next to his bed. It was well read.
Thanks, Doc

Hello I'm building an 11' TNT boat with my dad. It is turning out great. I like the styles that you all have. I'm 13 and I can't wait to drive the boat. Sincerely, Andrew

Thank you for such an easy to use site. The terms are explained enough for me to know how to do more research. You have done a real service to novices such as I.

Comments: I love your boat catalog. I purchased it 6 years ago and it got me, my sons & friends hooked. Only trouble... we can't make up our minds on what we want to build. I built Tubby Tug in the past. I belonged to a boat club and everyone was impressed. I own a 1973 Chris Craft cabin cruiser, and to tell the truth we had more fun with the Tubby than we did with our big boats. I sold Tubby and it was a big mistake. We used to take trips up the Conneaut creek, from our boat club. It was "great".

Comments: Great site.
Getting ready to order the plans for the Power YAK. Stress Reliever type work. I'm a police Capt. 26 YRs. Need this therapy.

Comments: I have already built two Glen L Boats. Both were a great success and the building was very straight forward.
I have recommended your plans for over 40 years. I look forward to building Eight Ball soon. Norman Cove

Barry, Why didn't you tell me boatbuilding was addictive? I have built 5 already and had a hand in 3 others. This has also happened to a friend of mine. We are now looking at building the "Outrage".
Thanks, Don S.

With over 19,000 miles on my Cabin Skiff I still am having a ball! Ray Macke

Comments: A few days ago I received the plans for the Sissy-Do, my first boat project. Now I'm not a stranger to tools or woodworking, honestly, the smell of freshly worked lumber somehow at that moment makes everything in life very good. (especially when my 5 & 9 year old boys turn off the TV or Playstation and say "hey dad, lets go build something"). Anyway, starting this project is all I can think about, heck, I even dreamt about sharpening my planes last night. Thanks,
Chris Anthony

Subject: You have a great company.
From: Howard Katzman

I'm sure you get a lot of complimentary letters and I just wanted to add one more. You have a great company and an outstanding website. I have been enjoying your website for a couple of years now. I purchased the ZZZip Kit from you about a year ago and I have just started construction. I am a construction manager and building boats for me is pure pleasure (This will be my second). I like building them even more than sailing them and I hope to always have a boat under construction. Thank you for your great customer service.

Greetings,
I have been receiving your fine newsletter for some time now and enjoy it very much. Had not heard from you in the past few months and went to the home page to see what was up. Have since signed the guest book to start receiving the newsletter again, and then found the latest newsletter to see what I had been missing. Imagine my surprise to see the article on the Sissy-Do, and after looking at the pictures was delighted to find the picture of my Sissy-Do, which I had submitted years ago.

It was a fun project which I built with a bit of help from my then young daughters. The boat served us well for many years and we have so many good memories that were created with that boat.

Just wanted to say thanks, and I have recently dusted off the prints I have of the Glen-L 14. Hope to start on it soon.

Best Regards,
Pat Rose

Comments: This is my favorite web site. Being near to retirement I am looking forward to fill my leisure days ahead building a boat.

Hi,
Just a word from a new subscriber in the UK.

I have just received my first newsletter (54) from Glen-L. I have seen many newsletters over a number of years, some OK, many rubbish. Glen-L's is by far the best I have ever seen - clear - informative - and easy to read.

Thanks for some very useful information, and an entertaining morning's read. I am already looking forward to the next issue.

Today I have only one question:
PLEASE HOW DO I GAIN ACCESS TO THE PREVIOUS 53 ISSUES??

regards,
Brian A (UK)

Just wanted to let you know I was thoroughly and positively impressed with the ease with which Poxy-Shield can be applied. The directions were super! The results excellent. Thanks.
Dan Crummett, Ponca City, OK

Overall, this (Glen-L Poxy-Shield) is a tremendous product, and one that I will use in the future. Dan Reardon

Comments: Your web-site is awesome... thank you so much. I will finally build a boat because of you. If all goes well with that one...I will build many.

I have started the construction of the Riviera and I must began my first report by a compliment. The way it is explained, presented, etc. is clear and confirms really that even a (French) novice like me can indeed understand what you are talking about… Dominique SAVARIAU

Comments: HI Glen-L Folks,
I am glad to see that you are still providing great boat plans for those of us out here who like to sail in something we built. I ordered my Glen-L 13 frame kit, plans and fastening kit way back in 1964. As I completed the boat I also ordered your hardware and sail kits. I really appreciated the quality of all your items. Now after almost forty years of sailing, my Glen-L 13 still draws comments and praise at the ramp whenever I rig her for sail. Keep up the good work.

Name: Henning Nilsen
Comments: I built a 16 FT dory several years ago from your plans. The plans were quite good and I had fun building the boat. It was a fun project and a good change of pace from my hectic daily schedule, a good way to relax.
