- Hull type: Garvey with vee bottom developed for sheet plywood
planking.
- Power: Long shaft outboard motor to 70 hp. Short shaft motor can be used if
transom modified. Electric trolling motors may be used at bow and stern.
Inboard/outboard may be used up to 400 lbs. although the silhouette may project
above deck line and reduce cockpit space. Outboard motors preferred, I/O
installation is not detailed.
- Can the hull be extended or shortened? Yes. Up to 10% by re-spacing the
frames from the aft end of the stem to the transom a proportional amount. We do
not recommend increasing the beam.
- Trailer: Designed for use with Glen-L Series 1000 boat trailer plans.

The hull of the BASS BOAT can handle short or long shaft outboards up to 70 horsepower. The lean width is in response to the requirement specified by fishing writers, that it be able to get into those tight areas among the stumps and reeds where the big one lies waiting. At full bore, the boat rides easy and flat, with plenty of stability at rest for steady casting. The control console can be omitted, and the popular stick steering control substituted, if desired.
