TANGO- Second Wind, built by Ed Vernon |
| I searched the web for the right boat for a couple of years. There are other plans similar to the TANGO out there, but there is no other website as helpful as the Glen-L website. I started building in April of 2002 and launched my TANGO in April of 2005. This boat was mostly built on weekends with an occaisional week at one time. I have been sailing Second Wind since that launch and continue to do so. I have made many additions and changes since launch. I added a pushpit/pullpit and life lines along with a roller furler, bimini, and a self tacking jib system. The wife and I still spend most weekends in the summer camping on our Second Wind. The V-berth is comfortable enough for four day weekends. My kids all still enjoy this boat even though they have all moved out. I retired this year 2010 so we expect to spend even more time on our TANGO this coming summer. Although I am a skilled craftsman with small woodwork projects I had never considered anything like this before. The website and those who built the TANGO before me are the major reasons for my success. I highly recommend this boat if you are looking for an easily trailerable, safe sailing, family boat. I would not trade this experience for anything. Order the study plans and see if this boat fits your needs. Happy sailing.
