Outboard or I/O power
Our MACKINAW express cruiser features a 2-berth cabin with
portable head so you can lay over while enjoying fishing,
diving, or other watersports. A roomy cockpit provides plenty
of space. And theres plenty of fuel capacity for long
runs - no need to rush home after a days fun as with
less-commodious boats. Based on our "WIDE-TRACK"
hull, outdoorsmen will appreciate this beamy, fast, and
stable design. The deep-v (45º bow deadrise) forefoot
blending into a semi-v (13º transom deadrise) aft
provides an easy ride. Flaring topsides with integral chine
flats knock down spray. Power can be single outboard or
I/Os to 900 lbs. (700 lbs. with 19' length).
With construction aimed at do-it-yourself builders, (even
first-timers!), you can build from sheet plywood
(½" bottom, 3/8" sides) over sawn frames, or
welded aluminum (3/16" bottom, 1/8" sides). Plans
include FULL SIZE PATTERNS for frame members, instructions,
material listings, plus a fastening schedule on the wood
version. Boat trailer plans are also available as well as
fastening and fiberglass covering kits on the wood version.
