WATER COOLED EXHAUST ELBOWS
Water cooled exhaust elbows are used at the outlet end of water cooled exhaust manifolds to introduce cooling water into the exhaust system, and also to cool the junction of the manifold to the exhaust line, which is usually a flexible hose. Risers are used in deep-vee, jet drive, or other boats where there is the possibility of exhaust water backing up into the exhaust manifold and engine valve chamber with resultant engine damage. Elbows are used where there is sufficient rise in the exhaust line to the motor so that this will not occur. All risers and elbows accommodate two sizes of
exhaust hose and have a 3/8" pipe water inlet. Sold in pairs for HEADER or SQUARE type manifolds.Exhaust size refers to the opening on the manifold end of the Riser or Elbow.
