Bob Tail Conversions...

A "bobtail" conversion is an automotive motor converted to marine use that does not have a marine transmission. Such a motor would be used on vee drive drive installations that incorporate the transmission in the vee drive, a stern drive that includes forward, neutral, and reverse, or a jet drive installation. These conversions come complete with all the necessary items to replace the existing automotive parts to adapt it to marine use. Bobtail conversions are available with either elbows or risers. Risers are used in deep-vee, jet drive, or other boats where there is the possibility of water backing up into the manifolds. The contents of the kits are noted. All castings such as motor mounts, manifolds, elbows, and risers are cast from aluminum and highly polished. Associated parts are chrome plated where applicable.
