Here's the answer to the dinghy storage and portage problem - the CENTERFOLD! She folds or hinges right across the middle, or can be made to take apart. The two separate parts are lighter and easier to carry than a conventional dinghy. Even the mast on the sailing version can be made in two parts for easy carrying and storage. The CENTERFOLD is thus the perfect ship-to-shore dinghy for the smaller cruisers where space is at a premium. Best of all, this boat is simple, easy and inexpensive to build. No lofting, no building forms, and no frames are required.
For faster construction, use one of our Frame Kits. Two different kits are available. One for a rowing/power dinghy, and the other for a sailing dinghy. With either kit, you receive all the wood members necessary except the two 1/4"x4'x8' sheets of plywood used for the planking and the spars. For added convenience, we have a series of kits, including fiberglass covering kits to reduce hull maintenance, and a fastening kit so you don't have to shop around for those hard-to-find screws and boat nails. If you wish to use the CENTERFOLD as a sailing dinghy, we have hardware/rigging kits plus sails ready for use.
